18 and could have cancer?

i found a lump in my breast in late december and booked an appointment in that week, before my appointment i found out i had coronavirus so i had to reschedule. my parents a week later tested positive and then after that i was to told self isolate again in january and cancel my other appointment.

i booked my appointment in feb and got a appointment quick and the doctors said that she was concerned because my lump was hard and my breast was larger than the other. she said she didn't wanna say that it's not cancer and said to wait for 2 weeks for an appointment to get an ultrasound from the hospital. i'm really worried an am waiting for the call from the hospital, im hoping it's a cyst and not cancer.

  • Hi you are so young to be worrying about something like this.

I too found a lump at 17, got it checked the doc said it was harmless as it was hard and movable.

Fast forward I'm now 35 and got the same lump checked in December as it got huge and was sore. She also found another 3. Got referral but had to wait 4 weeks due to covid backlog. Got the big lump biopsied and a smaller one. Results 2 weeks later, the big lump is harmless fibroadenoma and can stay but the smaller lump has to come out.

I now have rather a few lumps in my breasts, I can feel about 12. At your age these are very likely to be cysts or fibroadenoma.

Do not worry about your ultrasound, and it's good because they can tell you there and then what they think. You have age on your side here, all the best x

  • UPDATE

Went to the breast clinic and got an ultrasound scan and also got a biopsy - results come on wednesday so i will post results. Hoping that it's nothing serious and hopefully my post will be here for anyone who is worried because they're in the same boat. :)
