Lymphnode swollen, keep having antibitocs.

Hi, I'm 24 and for the last 3-4months I've had swollen glands. I've had 5 lots of antibiotics which seem to help them go down slightly, then they come straight back up after taking them, it's mostly my left side and it's painful and throbs. I'm waiting on a scan, but it's worrying me constantly I cannot just 'forget' about it as it's constantly swollen and I'm constantly aware of if and it's hurting and uncomfortable. I've looked it up and obviously cancer has came up, my bloods are normal, but because of my age I feel like I'm not being taken seriously. Has anyone else been through this?

  • Hi, I'm really sorry to hear about this. I am currently experiencing the same thing I have a swollen gland on the back of my neck and of course when I googled it it immediately said lymphoma. But as I read further into it it said that of course glands swell because of infections and sometimes they don't always go back to their normal size. I have very severe health anxiety

so joining in on this discussion might help put me at ease because I am constantly in fear of this kind of stuff

  • I'm sorry you deal with that, I've always had health problems and I think this is why  I worried so much when finding the swollen gland, it's painful and we all goodle symptoms and we shouldn't, I rang my hospital today and got a ultrasound on the 12th march, hoping it is just a infection not cancer, I've got a little girl and it's stressing me out I'm trying to ignore it until my scan, but it throbs and hurts.
