Can someone please help me I don't know what to do. My mum has been referred to a dermatologist urgently due to a black, crusty and raised spot on her back. It is roughly 1cm in diameter and 0.4cm raised off her back. It is symmetrical and it almost seems like it could be pulled off (not that anyone is going to do that) it has specks of brown in also and is fairly firm to press. I am absolutely terrified of loosing her she is my best friend and I can't think of her being gone. I know I shouldn't but from google searches it seems to remind me off a nodular melanoma. She has had this spot since she was a teen (is now 49) but at the beginning of December it started itching and now it is sore and much more raised. Please can someone put my mind to rest whilst we wait the agonising 2 week?
