Ulcer in mouth that hasn’t gone plus neck pain

Hi I'm a 30 year old female really worried due to a mouth ulcer that hasn't gone away it's on the roof of my mouth and also now pain in my neck, I have a heavy feeling and also feels like my ear is full.

I have a dentist visit booked in for 23rd as I'd seen this is the best way to get a mouth sore seen too.

im just so worried as I have a 1 and 6 year old at home and I don't want to not be there for them.
trying to keep positive but the overwhelming bad thoughts are getting too much.

  • Hello, I know how u are feeling.

I have had what looks to be a sore on the side of my tongue and odd sensations in that side of my tongue, I have been to the dentist 3 times and thE doctor twice and nobody thinks anything is wrong. I'm terrified they are wrong as I have a 1,4 and 8 year old, this has been going on since Xmas and nobody seems to be listening to me. Everybody keeps saying I should take reassurance as the dentist for sure would have picked up on something and she did say to me that she is not concerned about oral cancer, but what can this be??

I hope your dentist appointment goes well! Can I ask is it a painful ulcer? Mine doesn't seem to be so painful just have an odd sensation and I'm petrified xxx

  • Hi thank you for your reply

if your not happy with their decision I would keep going back, but at least it's positive they don't feel like there is anything wrong.

it's hard to describe it seems to be quite small and not painful during the morning when first waking but as the day goes on it seems to grow and become quite sore.

feelinf it with my finger it doesn't seem "big" but when I rub my tongue across it it feels like it's covering quite a large part of my mouth.
im now more concerned because of the neck pain I'm having I can't feel a lump or anything but there's defiantly something not right

I hope you get the answers you want and fingers crossed your doctors and dentist are right xxxx

  • I have booked

myself another appointment with the doctor, unfortunately it's just a phone appointment for Friday and then I guess if they want to see me it won't be until next week.

I am the same, most mornings I wake up and I feel fine and then gradually over the course of the day I feel there's a lump sensation appearing, by the evening I feel worse. Unsure of this is just anxiety... I find myself rubbing my tongue across my back teeth so maybe this is just my issue. I mean I really should take the dentist and doctors answers as reassurance but I just can't help but think the worst.

have you tried to see a doctor too maybe get an appointment before your dentist appointment? This corona getting in the way sucks aswell as appointments can take longer to receive.

fingers crossed it is nothing to worry about. Xx

  • Go to A and E that's what I did when the neck pain became unbearable you'll get to see a dentist there
