i had an oddly shaped mole removed last year after a routine mole check. Doctor inspected me from head to toe with a dermatoscope and agreed that one mole didn't look quite right. I wasn't sure that it has changed shape or size as it was in a difficult position. I spent a while going back through photos to check how my back looked! As it was on my back and difficult for me to keep an eye on, it was removed. The biopsy itself was so easy and took minutes really. I have a very small scar now that measures around 2/3cm.
 

Results took a couple of weeks to come back but luckily for me it was just a dysplastic nevi or atypical mole so no further action was required. I had pretty much convinced myself it would be a melanoma and would need further treatment as the mole itself look horribly shaped, but all was well.
