I'd had a lump in my breast for a while, at first I thought it might be a cyst as I'm only 27 and due to COVID I didn't want to bother the doctor. I lost my Nan to a blood cancer just before Christmas so it's made me think I shouldn't leave it too long, just in case. 
Its not painful but seems to have got bigger but it's hard to tell (I'd say the size of a plum) the only person I've told is my boyfriend who keeps telling me to just book an appointment, which I will do tomorrow so I guess this post is mainly to get it off my chest. 
Has anyone had experience with getting checked out during COVID? Was you waiting long for appointments? If you're under 40 did your doctor take you seriously?

    Hi I'm 35 and went to my gp in dec with a breast lump I've had for ages but it had grown. It's now about the size of a plum, like yours. She also found another 3 while I was there. I got an urgent 2 week referral (which is normal by the way), but due to backlogs with covid it was 4 weeks I had to wait.

    At that clinic I had an ultrasound on both breasts, and the nurse wanted to do biopsies, which she did there and then. Got my results 10 days ago, the large lump is a harmless fibroadenoma which can stay, but one of the smaller lumps has to come out.  Still waiting on a letter with that appointment on it!! X

    A very warm welcome to our forum.

    I am so sorry to hear of your Nan's passing and, am sure that you are aware that the sooner any cancer is discovered the better the outcome usually is.

    I would certainly agree with Kelsi that you should get this checked out . Make that appointment tomorrow and see what your GP has to say. Sometimes with younger people doctors are reluctant to see them, as they are less likely to have cancer. Sadly, this doesn't mean that it never happens so if you have any problems in getting seen, don't be afraid to insist.
