Hi,

Did you tell the doctor/nurse about the unusual bleeding and did you have a pelvic exam after your smear test?

I was going through something similar (bleeding after sex, weird periods, not being able to get pregnant in 2 years) My smear came back normal, though I have had thrush picked up on a cervical screening previously.

I also went to a place called Ultrasound direct which are in different locations all over the country. Had a pelvic and transvaginal ultrasound to check  up inside my lady bits haha and all was ok. Not ideal as it did cost me (£150 I think) but maybe worth considering if you're still worried about what's going on up there. 

I'm not a doctor so don't know if thrush affects the results of a smear but I'm pretty sure if it did they would of called you back to have another test. Loads of women have thrush and not know it so I imagine they would of figured out by now if thrush prevents abnormal cells from being detected
