Hello everybody,
I've been reading the forum and I think it's of great help!
I'm 26 years old and went to see my GP the 2nd February since I found a lump in one of my breasts in Decemeber, which didn't go away. It feels hard but it's slightly movable. My GP referred me to the breast clinic. There a nurse examined me, on Monday, said she could feel the lump and that I would probably need an ultrasound and biopsy. At that point I was going out of my mind, since I don't have a history of breast cancer in my family and never had any trouble in this sense. She tried to reassure me that it was not likely to be something bad and that it was very small (my GP said the size of a pea).
I had ultrasound and biopsy that same day. The woman who did the ultrasound didn't seem very concerned, but she told me they were going to do a needle biopsy anyway because they offer that service to everybody. I really don't know if that was true or if she was just trying that I stayed calm. The ultrasound showed an oval-shaped mass whith borders quite well-defined to me (although what I think does not matter that much since I'm not a doctor...).
I'm currently waiting for my biopsy results and feeling like I'm losing my mind. They told me they could either send them by post or call me in. 5 days have passed and I haven't had any news still. On Thursday I called and they told me the multidisciplinary meetings where held on Thursdays and that I could call next day to check if there were news. I called yesterday and they asked for my data so that a doctor could call me but they didn't.
Anyone else in a similar situation? Did anyone receive their results by post? How many days does it normally takes for a letter of this kind to be delivered?
Thank you and best wishes to all,
