Lymph node makes clicking/popping sound to touch

Around almost 3 weeks ago my left ear piercing had became infected and was bleeding and oozing and I soon noticed that the left lymph node had became swollen and I had a sore throat at the time but the piercing has now started to heal and haven't really been bothered by it again until now and I can feel the lymph node still abit hard but only when I really feel for it and it also makes a clicking sound and pops a little when I touch it , and it hasn't really caused me pain since until now when I've been feeling for it. I have extreme anxiety over my health too and I can't figure out if I'm just thinking it about how it feels and I can't tell whether it feels normal or not. I can only feel it when I turn my head and it seems quite hard but it is also hard but not as much the other side but I can't tell if that's my jaw bone.

  • Welcome to the forum AmeliajH although I'm sorry about the anxiety this is causing.

As it's playing on your mind it may be worth booking an appointment with your doctor as they're in the best position to have a look and let you know if it's any cause for concern. It will help put your mind at ease as well which is always good when you're worried about potential symptoms.

You can find out how to get the most out of your GP appointment just here.

    All the best,
