Swollen Groin lymph nodes 8months + !!

Evening,

I have swollen lymph nodes i first noticed one in my groin on the left side, After going to the doctors and having antibiotics 4 times and being told its a infection. Bla bla. Anyways it isn't an infection as 8 months later they are still swollen I have been back and forth with the doctors, ultrasounds and blood tests and ultrasounds and blood tests. BT was fine. Ultrasounds say reactive lymph nodes,  Yet they arent getting any smaller. I was then referred to hematology and she decided to refer me for a biopsy because I have swollen LN in both sides of my neck. So went to thr hospital today in the heavy snow to turn up and the radiogist done a ultrasound and said he wont be doing a Biopsy because I'm 27 and there isn't anything to worry about. I didnt take it to well, and told them if I knew I was coming for a US then I wouldn't of came!

I havent been well at all and I have lost a lot of weight.

Im being sick and not managing  to eat properly.

Im extremely exhausted.

Im just really struggling and now back to square one.

Anyone else ??

Thank you for reading. X

  • Hello Sammyjade27

I'm sorry to hear that you've been dealing with some ongoing health concerns and that you've not had an answer to reassure you.

I'm unsure from your post if you're due to have a follow-up appointment with the haematology department who requested the biopsy. I'd suggest getting back in touch with that Consultant/secretary in the first instance and explaining what has happened. If you feel that you're not getting anywhere with the hospital then you could consider speaking to the PALS department.

You may also want to speak to your GP about the nausea and vomiting that you've been experiencing as they may be able to give you something to help with this.

I do hope that you're able to get some answers soon and that things improve for you.

    Best wishes,

  • Hello, thank you for replying.

I rang PALS and they got in touch with hematology and they rang me and told me my lymph nodes are normal and that is why I'm not having a biopsy. I told them that they arent going down and more are appearing and she said to go back to my GP and request to be seen by someone who deals with lymph nodes because apparently hematology were only checking for blood cancer! Which i dont have!

Im now hoping to speak to my doctor next week and hopefully be referred to someone who can help!

    Thank you again for replying.
