Hi ladies,
I received my smear results last week and was told I have high grade abnormal cells and HPV. I have a colposcopy on Friday afternoon. I'm so worried as I know it is to check for precancerous cells not cancer itself as such but I'm worried about the pain I've been getting. I get terrible lower back pain which is worse at night and most worryingly I have been getting a strange pain in my pelvis/cervix/womb area which I can only describe as gentle contractions similar to those in very early labour or braxton hicks. They don't make me shout in pain or anything but they do hurt and they're strong enough to make me 'writhe' when they come on and wriggle about until it passes and are certainly uncomfortable and noticeable.
I had a little girl 8 months ago and nothing was picked up at any examination at the time this has just been picked up by my smear.
I know there's nothing I can do really other than wait for the results but just wondering if anyone can speak from experience and tell me if the type of pain I'm describing sounds like possible cervical cancer pain?
I'm so scared that this is going to end up being cancer and then worry how progressed it is if so. I haven't had any swollen legs (I do get sore legs sometimes but have done since giving birth to my daughter and was told it was just normal) no vaginal bleeding at all other than periods, no increase or unusual discharge so hoping these are positive signs.
