Hi everyone, 

I just wanted to come on here to see if anyone has/is experiencing anything similar to what I have been going through for the past month. I'm 17 years old. 
I noticed a few days after Christmas that I had blood on the tissue after going to the toilet. The blood went away but I have noticed a white mucus surrounding my stool nearly everytime I go to the toilet. I decided to book a doctors appointment, he carried a rectal exam on me and couldn't find anything apart from a healed fissure. He told me he didn't think it was anything serious but he wanted me to do some blood and stool calprotectin tests. My stress was absolutely through the roof at this point, I couldn't even function properly. My blood sample came back with raised inflammatory markers ( he never told me exact numbers or what was actually tested) and my stool sample had raised calprotectin also, however he told me it wasn't high enough for IBD? After hearing this I complexity panicked and just broke down. I'm just so terrified it's something serious. I now have a colonoscopy and endoscopy in 3 weeks time, which scares me also as he told me in the original appointment that he didn't want to go down the colonoscopy route!! Since then I have also been having a fullness in rectum and some tailbone pain. 
 

sorry to ramble on I was just curious as to whether anyone has experienced the same as me (desperate attempt to ease my never ending anxiety)
