Endometrial tests and results

I'm 62 years of age and 15 years ago, and then 10 days ago I had the internal scans and hysteroscopy with biopsies taken. Both times I was just told to take paracetamol and although pretty painful the nurse and consultant were very lovely and considerate and professional. The first procedures showed fibroids and polyps but this second time nothing on the day apart from thick womb lining. However, I was told the biopsy results would take much longer than usual because of Covid-19. Then this morning, 10 days after the procedure, the consultant’s secretary telephoned to say he wanted to see me in 72 hours to discuss the results. I’m totally freaking out so any advise would be much appreciated.

  • Hi I too had a post menopausal bleed. Mines was on 5th Dec and had to wait for urgent referral to bee seen on 11th Jan, 4 weeks ago, gynae consultant/surgeon. At this appointment I had internal examination,  internal ultrasound, a Hysteroscopy and he took biopsy as I have thickening in wall lining.  I found writing on here a help, talking with others in a similar situation to mine.  Until Saturday.  I can't sleep, am having nightmares.  And am a nervous wreck during the day.  I'm in Scotland and we don't have the same waiting times as other places in the UK.  I hope you get on ok at your appointment and you get the answers you need.  At least you will know where you stand very soon.  All the best  Jen
