Found hard lump that doesn’t move in lower part of breast

Hello,

I am 33 and I had my second child 6 weeks ago. 3 weeks ago I found a hard lump under my right breast whilst breastfeeding. I thought this was a blocked milk duct and got given antibiotics but it didn't go - only the red and soreness over it did. They referred me to the breast clinic where I thought I was just going to have an ultrasound but they ended up doing a biopsy as well. They said it definitely isn't a blocked milk duct and I have to wait for 2 weeks for the results. Since coming home I have been on google (I know this is bad) and I really feel like this lump could be cancer. It feels hard and feels deep and connected to the tissue underneath. It is also quite big - about 2-3 cm in length but it is quite thin. What else could this be apart from cancer if it is connected to the tissue underneath? I am terrified. Any advice would be appreciated thank you xxx

  • So I found a lump in my armpit. I went to the gp who did a breast examination. He found a 3cm lump and made the referral. Unfortunately I have a lot of breast cancer in my family history. I'm not worried as I feel the healthiest and fittest I have ever felt. I'm 40 this year and I decided to only worry if I need too. Of course I am anxious, I am human. The 3cm lump is in breast yea

  • Thank you for replying to me again and I am very envious of your positivity! I will try to think the way that you are. My mum passed away of pancreatic cancer 7 years ago and I also have breast cancer in the family so it's definitely a worrry xxx

  • I'm really sorry to hear about your mum. This will be another reason for your anxiety. I've had my share of bad luck in the last 18months I can't possible have anymore. I had some issues last year to at literally made me worry sick for a month. Turned out I had absolutely nothing to worry about. So with that in mind I figure no point worrying about something that may not be. Let's say it is something then I will deal with that head on. Time will tell I guess. Keep talking tho. Il always reply. Day or night. I know how hard this is.

  • Yeah it definitely doesn't help losing mum when she was 54. I am 33 so a lot younger but it really does fuel my worry. I have a 6 week old and a 2 year old and so it makes it really difficult when my mind wanders to the worst case scenario. I'm trying to do as you have said though and be more positive. I am sorry you have had a bad time recently also - life can be so tough sometimes can't it. I wish it was a case of ticking off bad situations from a list and then knowing the rest of your life will be easy but it just isn't is it. Thank you again for answering and offering your advise xxx
