Hi
Has anyone been diagnosed with the possibility of having both scc and bcc? I have results of a biopsy which states I have 2 different lesions?

Hello Glase
I'm sorry to hear that you've been diagnosed with 2 different types of skin cancer at the same time. I can imagine that it's been quite a worrying time for you.
I'm not sure that we've any members who have experience with both BCC and SCC so I'm going to recommend that you give our team of nurses a call. I'm sure that they will be able to answer some of the questions that you have and give you some advice and support ahead of whatever the next steps are in your treatment plan.
If you'd like to speak to them they're available Monday to Friday 9 am to 5 pm on 0808 800 4040.
Best wishes,

Hi,
I haven't had that experience, however I have known some who have had two different skin cancer diagnoses at the same time - these are usually melanoma and bcc. It's not unusual for this to happen if the melanoma has been caused by over exposure to UV. This is because non melanoma skin cancers are, in the main, also caused by too much UV exposure so it makes sense that damaged skin is more susceptible to any type of skin cancer.
I know how worrying it will be but please take some comfort in the fact that BCC does not spread so is easily treated whilst SCC has a very small risk of spreading if not treated quickly. Hopefully yours will be treated successfully, if they are found to be skin cancer. Good luck and please let us know how you get on,
Angie (melanoma patient)
