Delays, slow process

I'm believed to have a pituary tumour based on symptoms and bloods (or at least that's the only route they're looking into currently).

I had these bloods taken in October, it's now February and my referral with endocrinologists hasn't gotten anywhere yet.

I had an MRI (the wrong one) where results took over the 10 working day period to return.

I've now had the correct MRI and it's been three weeks since, upon calling doctors yesterday they still have no results.

I was told I was classed as urgent. Has anybody else had this experience with the NHS? My anxiety is an absolute wreck and I don't know how much longer I can take the uncertainty.

  • Hi anotheruser,

I'm sorry to read of your worries - I know how difficult the waiting and uncertainty can be.

My reply here will boost your post so you may receive further replies. Waiting times are longer at the moment but as you have been classified as urgent then it may be worth following up every few days to see if there is news.

The only thing I can really suggest is to try to keep yourself busy and distracted as much as possible to help take your mind off things - easier said than done I know.

I hope you hear more soon. Wishing you all the best,

    Ben
