Heavy Breast

Hi all,

Im 45 and for the last few months I have had a strange feeling in one breast. It feels really heavy like a dragging feeling and is quite uncomfortable. Mrs Lefty just doesn't sit happy in my brain it's like I know she's there all the time unlike Mrs Righty who could have packed up and gone on holiday and I wouldn't notice. It looks the same as the other one and when I visited the Dr she said both breasts physically felt the same but because I'd had the pain for a while she would be over cautious and refer me to the breast clinic. She wrote suspected breast cancer on the form but I'm hoping this is a to rule out serino not a I think she has serino.

Im just wondering if anyone else has been referred just for having a heavy painful boob?

The pain is like a dull ache all the time with occasional burning and stabbing that radiates from the outside of Mrs Lefty to my nipple.

I have fallen into Dr Google's trap and have in my mind convinced myself I have Cancer so now spend my days either being over the top happy (blanking it out) to days where I have a stomach full of butterflies today is a butterfly day.

Thanks for reading

  • Hi MrsRoss13,

Welcome to Cancer Chat. I'm sure this must be a little unsettling and I know the waiting is never easy. It's good you have a referral though as this will provide some answers hopefully before too long. I believe that wording is standard on referrals.

Do try to avoid Googling things as the information is often irrelevant and doing so tends to only increase worry.

There will be many others here who have been through something similar so hopefully you'll receive further replies.

If you'd like an idea of what to expect at the clinic then do take a look at this information here.

    Wishing you all the best,

    Ben
