Cervical cancer someone please help

Can someone help me please I can't eat or sleep as I think I have cervical cancer. I recently lost a baby at 8weeks pregnant in November and had medical management (prior to this everything had been normal in the Gynae department), I thought everything was fine following this and got a negative pregnancy test 4 weeks after. I then came on what I thought was my period. It only lasted a couple of days. A couple of weeks later I started getting extremely heavy brigh red bleeding with clots, like so many clots like my womb was falling out. This subsided after 3/4days and I just thought it was my womb clearing out and maybe I had a bit of retained tissue. I didn't see anyone for it. I then had a week of nothing and then a week later I had more red bleeding for a week but not heavy then brown discharge for a week then again I had gigantic clots (the size of my palm), it was pouring out of me, I had to go to a&e and they said it wasn't normal. I had an ultrasound and they thought it was maybe a polyp but could of been just a blood clot. Blood tests were negative for infection so they gave me tablets to stop the bleeding and referred me for a Hysteroscopy which I had yesterday. She couldn't find anything in my womb that she thought could be causing this excessive bleeding (the clots were the size of my palm) and gave me more pills to stop bleeding and some contraceptives. She said I'm going to do a biopsy...she gave me a reason why but at the time I wasn't listening properly I was just glad they hadn't found anything to be the cause of the bleeding and said just wait for the results of that. I came home last night ok then because I'm getting back pain and pelvic pain but not bleeding and I was also getting some leg pain and night sweats. I googled my symptoms and cervical cancer came up. 7 years ago I had an abnormal smear and cin1 but since then my smears have been normal but my last one was nearly 3 years ago now. I'm so worried I have advanced cervical cancer, if they can't find anything else to be causing the excessive bleeding then I can't think it can be anything else. I'm so worried about leaving my 3 kids without a mum. I've cried all night and really don't know how I'm going to get myself through this wait till my results and also worried about the next round of bleeding I'm going to get. Can anybody help?

  • Hi Acw16,

Welcome to Cancer Chat. Firstly I'm sorry to hear of everything you've been through recently, it sounds like a lot.

I can understand how you're feeling and I'm sure the uncertainty and not to mention the symptoms must be really difficult.

Try to steer clear of looking things up on Google as it's not possible to self-diagnose and this only tends to increase worries.

Hopefully it won't be too long for you to wait for your results and then you should have a clearer idea of what's going on, as well as an opportunity to talk things through with your doctor.

In the meantime try to keep yourself busy as much as you can, in an effort to keep your mind off it.

Whatever happens, we're always here for support if you need it at any point.

    Wishing you all the best,

    Ben
