Lump found which I cannot feel..

I've never posted on anything like this before but just need some opinions please as I'm freaking out. So I have had some pain and discomfort in my right breast for a few weeks. I ignored it as I thought it's probably just hormones, then I noticed this breast was larger than usual and hanging a lot Lower than the other. I got it checked with my gp thinking it would be nothing and on examination she found a 2cm lump. I've had an urgent referral and have an appointment Wednesday next week. I'm very anxious I'm 31 with a small child and all sorts of things are running through my mind. I have tried and tried to feel the lump myself and Connot find it.. is this normal? Should I be concerned. Thanks xxx

  • Hi Kim,

You have done the right thing by getting this checked and hopefully you will know soon. I just wanted to say that something similar happened to me about 18 months ago. I had a pain in my breast for a few weeks. When it didnt go away, I went to get it checked out. My GP said she could feel a small lump, which I couldn't feel at all, despite checking about a million times a day! I was given an urgent referral (which I believe everyone is with a lump or pain) and I went to the breast clinic. They found a very small cyst, so small it couldnt be aspirated. Two months later it did grow a bit so I had to go back and get it sorted and it was all fine. I know it's scary waiting to go and get checked but so many people get referred and it's usually nothing. I know it's so easy to say but try to stay calm, your appointment is soon and thats great.

    Take care

    AJ
