Hello.
For over a year I have been getting blood in my mouth. I'm not coughing it up and I can't seem to find were it is coming from.
I went to my GP after waiting far to long and they organised for me to go to ENT. I had this appointment a couple of days ago after waiting 8 months due to covid, before the appointment I felt fine about the issue not expecting the worse. The doctor was asking me some questions regarding time and severity etc. He looked in my mouth, and felt my neck. He then said one of your tonsils is bigger than the other. I immediately replied yeah it's always been like that. He then went on to explain that this is a sign of tonsil cancer, at that point I started to worry and doubt myself. Has it always been that way?! I got up and looked in the mirror in the room and I felt sure it had always been that way. It's only slightly bigger he said. Since the appointment I have been going over and over in my head trying to think of it has always been like that, down to the finest detail of them. He said everything else seemed fine after feeling around my jaw. I do not have any other symptoms of tonsil cancer to my knowledge. No constant sore throat, lumps or ear pains.
I'm sorry to go on and I know there are people who have actually been diagnosed with cancer and battling it.
Im that worried my entire personality has changed. Im walking round as if I have already been told I'm terminal. Can anyone share anything with me to try and make me be more positive.
I'm 38, have children and the thought of leaving them is destroying me.
Regards
