Hello,

I'm a 20 year old male, I also suffer bad from health anxiety.

so around a week ago I noticed a small lump under my skin under my jaw line I think where the glands are.

I am so scared if it could possibly be cancer and I've consulted dr google many of times and my head is fried and I don't know what to do. I'm so scared to go to the go incase they give me the worst outcome possible.

I don't show any other symptoms I don't have night sweats I don't have lose of weight (not that I know off) 

I'm just scared as I really don't fancy dying young not at this age :( 

I feel like I'm going on a bit here but I just need some reassurance I really don't know how to deal with this health anxiety.

I wouldn't worry to much if it's just the one lump however I'd keep an eye on it and if it doesn't go away or grow just mention it to your gp xxx

Thank you for your reply, I do feel run down but that's because I've done night shifts for 5 days which ain't good for the health but there isn't much I can do lol. It doesn't feel like it's grown it's the same as how I found it and it doesn't stick out of my skin which is also a good sign I think

The two lumps under my jaw are the size of marbles. Just try not to Google xx

I am the exact same I have extreme health anxiety to the point it keeps me up at night literally examining myself. I had a infection in my piercing on the left side and I realised I had a swollen gland only on that side it felt hard though but was quite painful and I had a sore through along with it but that didn't last long and I forgot about it until now and I've felt that it is still there and still feels hard but it moves slightly, it is underneath my earlobe and along my jaw kind of. I'm so worried, I'm going to call the doctors tomorrow. 

Update I've finally spoken to my gp which has proven difficult with the current Covid situation. She wants to repeat my bloods and see me on Monday to look at the swollen lymph nodes as they are still there and I have a couple more.

Ive stopped overthinking this now as from what I've read it could be a million things and we have just had bad news yesterday about my sister in law having stage 4 breast cancer and I feel this isnt the time for me to be worrying about myself!

Aww that's sad to hear. Even if it isn't the time to be worrying sometimes you can't help yourself, I know I can't but I understand it could be many things and also google says if it is hard it means it's bad but it's not always the case because a salivary gland infection (which I'm supspecting mine could be) can be firm and tender. I have had a lot of infections lately which I think it could be like I've been having dry cracked lips at the sides of mouth, and I have had a bacterial infection in another area of the lump so maybe it's just something which is in my body but I still think at the back in my mind it's cancer. I'm just going to try not to worry now. Hope you get on ok with the doctors, it is difficult at the moment with covid.

i have been referred to a hematoligist after my blood results came back. I have swollen lymph nodes and one lump under my jaw and sweats.

I have no appointment date as of yet I only found out today

Did you find out what was low or high in your bloods?
