Mum's appointment brought forward. Does that mean bad news?

Hi all just wondering if anyone could give me some advice on this topic. My mum suffers with servere anxiety and went to the hospital yesterday for a camera down her throat and she also has a lump on her neck, after looking they said they think it's a blood vessel but wants to do an ultrasound to be on the safe side and check everything completely. They told her yesterday the appointment will be for the 28th February. This morning the hospital rang saying they would like her to come for her appointment on the 11th February now instead. This has set her anxiety off really bad again as they have not yet given any information as to why they have made the appointment much earlier! Has anyone had this before? Is this quite normal to reschedule them or could something be wrong ? Any advice will help thank you.

  • Hi Abbylouise, life's so complicated when you're having all these scans etc but don't panic as there could be so many reasons to move it forward.  There could be a cancellation so they've fitted her in, or they may have booked the original date and the person involved may not be free to do it that day.  I read a lot about health anxiety on this forum and all of those worried about these things still worry even when you point out reasons why, so just stay calm for her and at least now you will know earlier what is going on.  Best wishes, Carol
