Hello firstly you are very young to have throat cancer . I finished my treatment for HPV base of tongue cancer in May last year . My symptoms and most symptoms of throat cancer is a sore throat , lump or bump or maybe burning . 
 

my lymph nodes did swell in my neck I had two pea size lumps , But they only appeared after I had a sore throat for about 6 months . 
This is usually where the cancer goes when you nodes can't fight infections . Not always cancer I may add. 

you have hundreds of lymph nodes especially in the area you have mentioned . I could tell you not to worry but it's only human that you are worried . You have probably lost weight because you are understandably  anxious . 
 

you know your own body & you have to advocate for yourself and maybe go back to the doctors but a different one in your surgery .

I went for a private ENT consultation initially as the NHS appointments were taking too long , is there anyway perhaps you could afford to have a private consultation too just to get some kind of answer. 
 

I honestly doubt this is cancer it could be some kind of reflux or globus , BUT am not a doctor , but I want you to know if this is some kind of throat cancer it's not a deaths sentence . It's a very , very treatable cancer with a very good outcome ...

Go back to the doctors or if you can go private to start . Let me know how you get on. Ginny x x 

Hi there, sorry to hear of all the worry you are having.  I recently underwent tests for cancer and I was convinced I had it but thankfully it appears not.  If I was in your position I would contact your GP and ask for repeat blood tests to check the tumour markings. I am no expert but they might be able to reassure you or advise you whether to go up A & E. There is nothing worse than worrying about it. Hope you get it sorted soon. 

Ginny thank you for your reply. Unfortunately there is only one doctor in my surgery at the miniute and it is very hard to even get an appointment as they are just telling me they have send refferal already. They aren't much help.

I am not in a position to pay privately I only wish I was. I was sent a surgical appointment but I am unsure what it is for and it isn't until the second week in March.

I am glad to know that it is a treatable cancer, my uncle was 50 and was terminal by the time he was diagnosed there was no hope for him unfortunatly, he was fobbed off quite a bit before his diagnoses, and by the time he was he had a 12cm tumor,  so I guess this is where my anxiety is stemming from as this was recent enough and quite a shock to us all. 

You say sore throat, my throat has not been sore it's more that I can tell they is something wrong with my throat it's uncomfortable, like there's something not quite right, almost like it is always dry or like a scratchy feeling and in the morning it feels horrible. Sometimes in the morning I will have green gunk back there but it isn't constant throughout the day once I clear it it is gone, and then I just have this constant need to clear it. Can I ask do you relate to this.

It's ongoing a long time this is my worry. When I noticed the lumps was September/October but I feel like I have had problems with my throat forever and I was just putting it to the back of my head due to lock downs and my little girl being very sick and us isolating for 5 months when she got out of hospital. It's easy to put yourself on the back burner for kids eh The lumps I have gave grown since then and I have more and back then I only had one.

Feels like forever to wait until march to be seen, and even then it isn't for the ENT/FNB/ultrasound as my consultants secratery has said they can not give me appointment for them until services resume.

Could I also ask if you don't mind me asking how much it cost for the private ENT consultation.

It was about 150 pounds I know it's a lot of money & we really shouldn't having to be paying for private doctors appointments . What does it say on your letter for March ? 
 

look this could even be your adenoids or tonsils I didn't have any Gunk of any kind at all in my throat and I was diagnosed at stage 4 .  I have been given the all clear after 6 weeks of treatment and will continue to be monitored for another 5 years . 
 

there isn't any point in me going through all the in and out of the treatment as you probably don't even have cancer . If it comes back that it is for any reason I will help you beat I can but as I said this cancer really is, if your going to get any cancer you want this one . 
 If you are spraying any sprays or anything down your throat try and stop using and maybe get your self some probiotic ( healthy gut bacteria ) from Holland and B incase this is stemming from your digestive system . It won't do you any harm . 
 

when you feel for lumps you just stroke very lightly over the neck area not a full on massage as you will feel lumps . I have had enough oncologist feel my neck to know it's a very light stroke . 
 

Try and keep your immune system happy as you say you aren't eating and losing weight . If you don't eat supplement with a high protein shake .
