Lymph nodes

My 2 year old has a growing hard and immoveable lump behind his ear on his head for a few months, after an appointment with our gp he was referred to paediatrics out patients. They are pretty certain this is a swollen lymph gland but wanted to take bloods and do an ultrasound scan on the lump. Bloods were fine and we are waiting for results of ultrasound. Fast forward a few weeks, he's lost 2kgs in weight, he has multiple glands swollen in his head, neck and groin and we've just been informed that his bloods that they thought were fine actually aren't fine and he has elevated lymphocytes in his blood. I've been told this could be due to a viral infection but he's not been ill with any infection ever in his life and has had 1 virus over a year ago. We have a few weeks to wait till our next appointment for scan results and repeated blood tests and I am beside myself with worry. I have a horrible feeling in my gut that there's something terribly wrong with him and I can't shift the feeling. I was hoping to post this and someone will reply that's been in a similar situation and everything  has turned out to be good news.

Hopefully some of our members who have been in similar situations with their young ones will get back to you soon but feel free to join in on other discussions you find about this when using the 'search forum' option in the blue bar above.
