Inflammatory breast cancer

Hi,

I'm new here, from the uk,26 no children... I have never done anything like this before but I am besides myself

With the pandemic it's almost impossible to see medical professionals! I have been trying to find out what is wrong with me since beginning of December 2020. A rash rather itchy and orange peel like sore and painful on and around my nipple. Been walk in centre twice phoned 111 twice spoke to my go surgery a million and one times being misdiagnosed with mastitis, a bacterial infection, an abscess etcetc I ended up in surgical assessment unit being kept for 6 hours and then sent home with no answers. Went to the breast clinic for a triple breast assessment because I am showing all signs and symtoms of IBC yet I was there for around 15/20 minutes and sent home without one test and just a tube of hydrocortisone cream which I've already had over the last 6 weeks along with two types of antibiotics two types of cream something for me to bathe in and nothing is getting better I'm feeling worse as the days go on. I'm not sleeping because I am so scared and it feels like I'm getting no help anywhere.

  • Hello Coral1994

I'm sorry to hear that you've been dealing with this health concern for a few weeks now. It sounds like it's been a very frustrating time for you.

I'm presuming from your post that you weren't given a follow-up appointment at the breast clinic in which case do get back in touch with your GP. The Consultant should have sent them a discharge letter outlining their opinion on the issue and the treatment that they gave you. Explain to the GP that things still haven't resolved and that you feel it's worsening. It may be that the GP feels that further tests or a different referral are necessary.

I do hope that things improve for you soon.

    Best wishes,
