Cervical cancer. Young

(I did try post this earlier but can't find it so trying again) i was spotting on and off through the whole of January. Very unusual for me. I rang the drs today and the dr sounded concerned. Said she wanted to see me ASAP and the next appointment will be next Wednesday, she'll look at my cervix and take a swab. I know I shouldn't of, but Dr Google links cervical cancer with my spotting and other symptoms.

I'm only nearly 24, I don't want to hear the 'young people very rarely get that cancer' because guess what i could be one of them. My mum was told she was too young for lung cancer at the age of 49.

What were your symptoms? How long after swabbing did you get your results, even if they were clear?

  • Hello Zoelouisee

I'm sorry to hear that you've been having some health concerns recently. It's understandable after losing your Mum that you're feeling worried about your own health. I'd strongly recommend avoiding searching Google for answers as it will leave you feeling more anxious about things.

Hopefully, your GP will be able to give you some reassurance at your appointment next week.

    Best wishes,
