(Positive story) Breast implants, felt pea size lump

I wanted to post this here for anyone with breast implants who thinks they've found a lump. Over the past week I was beside myself with worry having found a hard pea size lump in my right breast. I've had breast implants for 6 years. I'm 27 and promised to myself I would post to this forum after my appointment to help anyone in similar position, as I was constantly googling (which is an absolute no no I don't recommend it- we all know Dr Google is awful)

I got a referral to the breast clinic. I googled and googled and convinced myself of the worst. I was crying almost daily etc.

My boyfriend gave me great advice and yesterday ( day before my appointment) was the first day I felt okay.

He said why worry about something that hasn't even happened yet? A lump can mean so many things- in most cases benign. Of course you should not ignore the problem but don't panic. I panicked so much- trouble sleeping, feeling so afraid and feeling worried.

Well I went to the appointment today and to my absolute relief the ultrasound found that the reason I am feeling this pea size grain of rice size almost bump deep inside my breast is that it's the Button on my breast implant that surgeons use to align the breast when they implant it. Just wanted to put this out there for others with implants who may never have known about this "button" as I certainly didn't.

So just to let you know if you have breast implants to be aware of this but of course make sure to get yourself checked out to be on the safe side as we can get lumps and bumps for multiple reasons xx
