Hi

My nurse found a polyp during a routine smear test. (I originally was going to have my coil taken out at the same time but couldn't find threads.) 

I have been referred to have my coil removed and polyps also at the gynaecologist unit and rang up today to confirm they have my details. The receptionist informed me that it had been put through as routine and would take around 5-6 months before I would be seen ? Is this correct? I informed her of my polyps and she said doctor had just put routine surgery ?  I thought with it being a polyp I would be seen sooner and also that my coil has been left in for over 15 years due to there mistake, that surgery would be quite soon ? I have contacted my gp through the my gp app and told to contact them tomorrow as no doctors available to see my request today. 

I feel so let down. i know that we are in a pandemic but I have been having trouble for the past 6 months with infections and pain and to wait a further 6 months is really upsetting me.

I'm hoping that they can speed things up when I contact them again tomorrow   

Has anyone had polyps? And how long did you have to wait to be seen ? My mum had polyps and the whole thing from start to finish was dealt with and removed within 6 weeks ? I'm not sure if that was due to her age ?

On a good note my smear has come back as clear, which is a positive. My husband seems to think that because that is clear there is no way that the polyps could be cancerous? Is that right ?
