Ulcer found in my caecum (bowel), has anyone else had this?

Hi I am new to this forum. I had a colonoscopy 1 week ago as my sister had bowel cancer last year. She is doing great thank God. The doctor found an ulcer in my caecum and took 4 biopsies I have no results yet. My GP said that they may need to remove the ulcer even if it is benign. Has anyone else had a lesion or ulcer on their caecum or bowel. I can only find info on polyps.

Thank you all in advance

  • Hello Any and welcome to the forum.

I'm sorry about the ulcer that's been found but fingers crossed the biopsy results will show it's benign.

Waiting for results is always tough but I hope this information will help keep your nerves at bay until the results are back.

I can see you've heard back from one of our members from another post you made about this but hopefully you'll receive some more responses and support on this discussion as well.

    Kind regards,

  • Hi,

I have just had colonoscopy too with an ulcer found in my caecum.....am thinking the worst as my birth mother died from bowel cancer.....was just wondering what the results of your biopsy were?

Hope all was ok and we were/are both worried over nothing!

    Thanks

  • Hi cathnbarney

I had 5 biopsies taken and they were all clear. However my consultant wants to do colonoscopy 1 year after the last one to make sure it doesn't turn. If there is anything sinister he said it would be v early and they will remove it then but so far so good  best of luck with the results

    Regards
