Ovarian Cyst - lump and painon the opposite side to the cyst

Posting an update of my story as it really helps to get advice and puts my mind a ease.. a little.

My operation to remove a 10cm cyst was due to happen this week but they cancelled it a few days ago and are only doing emergencies. I fully understand the pressures on the NHS right now so just need to sit tight and stay positive. They have said I'm priorty and top of the list and not to worry, that I'll be seen soon but who knows if soon is a week or two or a month.

Im very worried as they say the cyst is on the right but the lump I orginally found on the left,  in May last year 2020, is now back again and very sore (even although they said the left is fine) and the right where it has been identified is getting sorer as the days go by- I have a call with my doctor this week as unable to speak with the consultant directly and feel I need advice as I understand pain can be caused from the other side but its the lump that worries me. I'm 27 and not had any children yet and very worried incase there is a problem on both sides.

Thank you for the support from this forum, very grateful!xxx

  • Hi Tash49,

Thank you for posting your update and I'm glad you've been finding the forum supportive.

I'm sorry to hear your operation has been delayed, I can imagine this must be disappointing and a little frustrating. It sounds like you are managing things well and it's good that you're speaking to your doctor - hopefully they can advise you about the pain you're experiencing.

I hope it's not too long for you to wait for you to get your new appointment.

    Wishing you all the best,

    Ben
