3 week wait for Breast clinic

Hello,

I am 55 with a new breast lump in my right breast, I found it last week,it's just a small(pea size) hard lump , my GP examined me and put me on the fast track breast referral, the hospital did phone within 3 days but it's now a 3 week wait due to covid, I don't know if I'm reassured that they don't think it's urgent or freaked out. I've been on oestrogen for 20 years after a hysterectomy in my 30s,I'm worried every time I take it now in case I have breast cancer and I'm feuling it? I'm trying not to do Dr Google

  • Hello SandyPop,

I just wanted to welcome you to our forum. I am so sorry to hear that due to covid, you are having to wait three weeks to be seen at the breast clinic.  I can imagine it must be a very stressful time for you as you are waiting to find out more.

I know it is really hard but try not to worry too much or anticipate what it might be. The best thing to do to avoid thinking too much about this is to keep busy and distracted if you can and you are right to want to avoid looking things up online as Dr Google is never one to be trusted. I can imagine it is hard for you to do this at the moment but it will help you feel a little less anxious.

I hope you will also hear from others here who have been through all this before and that they will be along soon to share their story with you.

Keeping everything crossed for you that everything turns out fine.

    Best wishes,
