Abnormal bleeding and lower left abdomen pain

Hi everyone gonna write a long story here but if you have the time please read, throughout the year I have experienced bleeding between my periods 3/4 times (I'm on the pill) I would stop for my pill break and I wouldn't get my period then when I went back on I would bleed two weeks later. I was advised to run my pills back to back so I did (not pregnant) (also I have been on the pill around 3 years never had problems or any spotting) mid November I started bleeding again when I wasn't supposed to be this time it was fresh blood it lasted about over a week ans then stopped and then two weeks later I was bleeding again and I began with pain in my lower left abdomen. It's there constantly it's a dull ache with occasional sharp pains, it sometimes stops me from standing for long and I occasionally get a feeling of pressure like (tmi) I've held my pee for too long. This bleeding has been on ans off and ranges from red fresh blood to brown. It's now nearly February and I've had the pain everyday since mid/end of November. My ultrasound showed "thickened cervix possibly caused by adenomyosis or polyp"
I had a hysteroscopy to check for polyps and fibroids - I was told everything looks normal, waiting on results of biopsy. I was hoping it would be a polyp/fibroid as I am so scared now as to what it might be!
I am only 21 but I am so frightened it's cervical cancer it just seems weird that I have this pain there all the time it must be something!
I've been checked for STI's but I'm wondering if it could be PID? Has anyone here experienced anything like this? My diagnosis from the hysterscopy says "endometriosis??" But I've never had heavy periods and they aren't particularly painful either

  • Hello Lymphnode and welcome to our forum!

I hope you won't have to wait too long for your biopsy results. I can imagine it must be a very stressful time for you while waiting for these important results.

I know it is really hard but try not to worry too much or anticipate what it might be. The best thing to do to avoid thinking too much about this is to keep busy and distracted if you can and avoid looking things up online. I can imagine it is hard for you to do this at the moment but it will help you feel a little less anxious.

I hope you will also hear from others here who have been through all this before and that they will be along soon to share their story with you.

Keeping everything crossed for you that everything turns out fine.

    Best wishes,
