I would be more concerned about you having a lung infection rather than breast cancer. It does sound more like inflammation. I have this a lot too.. I do have a lung disease and had a lung biopsy a few years ago and at that time my left breast felt so heavy to me. I know now it was due to inflammation. 
Have you had a bad cold/cough and how is your breathing, do you get short of breath at all while climbing stairs or being active? I would suggest you go back to your GP and ask about lung inflammation...ask for a referral to a lung clinic for a lung function test.

I'm trying to distract myself but to be honest I'm worried sick and really anxious to the point where I can't eat. I keep thinking I'll go and my breast will be full of cancer and I'll be told I only have weeks to live. As I write that I realise how irrational I sound.

I can feel the panic in your post and I wish I could say something that would reassure you but if you are like me you probably won't be able to really calm down until you've seen a specialist and had a mammogram. Have you had one before?

It might help if I take you through what happened on my appointment:

After sitting in a room with lots of other nervous looking women (some had brought people with them which immediately got me thinking "should I have brought someone with me in case it's bad news?") I was taken through to see the consultant. She examined me and said that she didn't think there was a problem but I would have a mammogram to make sure and I would get the results before I left. 
I had the mammogram and returned to the room of nervous women where I had sat before. 
One by one they were called through and given their results. I sat there for ages as new people came and went. Of course I assumed it was going to be bad news. 
Eventually my name was called and I was taken into a side room by a nurse. I remember noticing the box of tissues sitting alone on the table and thinking "well, here we go". 
She apologised for the delay and explained that they had wanted to get a second opinion. I have 2 benign lumps (which I did know about) and they wanted to double check that there had been no change. She confirmed that I was fine with no sign of cancer. 
She explained that on-going, unexplained breast pain is quite common. She gave me a booklet on the subject, (which shows how common it is). I read it  from cover to cover and to summarise it said "‍♀️ We don't really know, but it's not anything to worry about and will probably go away".

My pain did go away over the next few months and I now think that it was probably all stress related in the first place. I am prone to various aches and pains during/ after periods of stress. Are you the same? Living through this pandemic and all of the associated pressures it puts on people has increased everyone's stress levels and your body reflects that in various strange ways. - That's how I stumbled across your post. I've been awakened with upper back ache every night for the past few weeks and was Googling around various websites in a panic.

I am my own worst enemy. The Dr said both my breasts felt the same so now I'm convinced I have cancer in both breasts I regularly fall down Dr Google's rabbit hole but I just can't stop. 
 

Im a complete mess and don't know how to stop myself feeling this way. 
 

Can I ask did your breast feel heavy? Mine just feels heavy and not right. I thought not having any obvious symptoms or a lump was a good sign but Dr Google tells me otherwise

I am highly stressed I work in a school (not a teacher) my husband is depressed having had a previous breakdown and my daughter and Mum currently have Covid. I feel overwhelmed and just want to stay in bed and cry anyway without my alien boob. 
 
Im sure your pain is nothing but see a Dr that isn't Google

Yes. The sore one also felt heavy. In retrospect I find myself thinking was it really heavier or was that just increasing panic in me? But at the time it felt heavier. 

-We all know not to go looking at Dr Google but we do it anyway!
