Persistent ovarian cyst

Hi guys,

I have been dealing with ovarian cysts since 2018, I was told in 2018 I had PSO. This year it has been causing me a lot of pain so went back to the doctors, they did another ultrasound then said I have two ovarian cysts' one on each side.

They wanted to monitor these and I had another ultrasound just before Christmas, which showed one had resolved but the other is persistent. They had already done the c125 blood test with the first ultrasound which came back fine.
Now they have referred me to the gynaecologist and request two more blood tests one for AFP and the other for b-HCG which I have tomorrow.

When the doctor rang me they told me they don't know what the cyst is but the gynaecologist will probably want these tests and may want to do surgery.

I have previously been offered surgery for a couple of Fibroadenomas in my left breast. I declined this as the doctor was very rude to me and I didn't want him doing the surgery. As my Tumours in my breast were diagnosed with just an ultrasound and horrible doctor, I am now worried that this was also misdiagnosed as this all happens in 2018 and now I am having even more problems.

Sorry for the long rant!

Can these tumours all be linked or am I just over worried and should just take it as it comes and see what the gynaecologist says without bringing up the tumours In my breasts?

Thank you in advance.

  • Hello Heather123,

I'm sorry to hear about your situation and that you had to deal with a rude doctor. It's easy to understand why you're concerned now that you have received the wrong diagnosed, but I'm afraid we can't tell you here if these tumours found are linked as we don't have a medical background. The best person to advise you would be your gynaecologist.

While you wait, if you think speaking with someone medically trained over the phone might help, feel free to give our team of nurses a ring. They're available on this phone number 0808 800 4040, Monday - Friday between 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.

I hope all goes well for you, Heather123.

    Best wishes,
