Consultant supposed to phone but didnt.

Im awaiting news about the multi disciplinary team meeting and other results but consultant was supposed to call friday and didnt so i chased it up i was down for a call, but nothing. So monday i call the consultants secretary and she was sharp with me stating she couldn't discuss my results with me and i said well its the consultant i want to discuss it with  and she said I'll make a note of that and he will get back to you. This has made me very anxious indeed and ive had to wait all over the weekend and i dont know if ill get a call today either. I know the nhs is under immense pressure and i feel like im being really selfish asking for them to deal with me. Im waiting to be told whats the next test i got to have done, to either diagnose or rule out ovarian cancer, so its scary time.

  • Hi Chrissyh,

Don't feel selfish - you are entitled to find out your next steps, particularly if you were told you would be called. It's always good to follow these things up.

Hopefully by now you have had a chance to speak to the consultant.

Wishing you all the best and we're always here for support if you need it at any point.
