Support from loved ones

Hello,

I'm sure a lot of our loved ones find it hard to accept when we get ill, especially when it comes to the big C word. Is anyone else finding their partners support out right rubbish during one of the most worrying times of their life?

I find that all I need is comfort and support/ security but my partner threatens to leave during an argument or constantly acts a victim when I'm naturally stressed with illness at the moment.

Would be nice to learn how others are dealing with their home life/ support bubbles whilst suffering mentally on a daily basis :(

Hope everyone is ok x

  • Hello Srayra

I'm sorry to hear that you're struggling with your home life whilst dealing with health issues. I can see from one of your other posts that you've had an operation this week and I hope that you're recovering well and that you're feeling more supported.

Dealing with health problems and undergoing investigations can be a worrying time for both the patient and their family members. Add into that the current situation with Covid19 and a 3rd national lockdown and naturally, everyone's stress levels are heightened.

I don't know if you're able to have a level conversation with your partner but if you are, maybe talking about how you're both feeling and coping with things will help you to both understand what you can do to support each other through this difficult time. Hopefully, this will improve things at home for everyone.

    Best wishes,
