I  am waiting for a gynaecology appointment & it's a worry that I just can't shake. I had a smear reminder March of last year & due to the high demand at work with Covid & lockdown, I have only just had my routine smear last week. The nurse found a very large polyp in the neck of my cervix & asked my GP for an urgent referral. This was made but my appointment is 4 weeks away. I've had bleeding after intercourse for a while now but didn't think much of it. I've also had menstrual pains & lower backache recently too. I've had a coil fitted for nearly 6 years now & am currently on HRT for the menopause. I was also diagnosed with fibroids approximately 10 years ago & I was told they'd shrink as I was at the time peri menopausal.  I'm hoping it's nothing but can't help but worry. 
The nurse was also going to check my coil was still in place but couldn't do this due to the size of the polyp. Has anyone else experienced similar problems with polyps? I'm worried either the coil or HRT may of masked symptoms.
