Hi,
I have had some rectal bleeding on and off for a few months now. I think I convinced myself it was diet realted and was only happening when I wasnt having much fibre and a bit constipated. Often a few spots on blood in the toilet making it look awful but more often was spots on wiping and the odd smear of blood on the stool. Always fresh red. On passing the stool it often feels 'jaggy' or like sharp pain at my rectum - never anywhere else in my stomach , only 'on exit' (only way I can think to describe it!)
No other symptoms, the odd bit of bloating but always had that - no persistant pain etc.
Decided to go to the GP a few weeks ago and he asked me a ew questions, had a look but not internal and said I had haemorroids but he always refers anyone of my age (37) for a colonoscopy (my GP has a really good rep for always investigating things very thoroughly).
I was given a Q-fit test to send away also and as you can imahine have been crippled with worry waiting on the results coming back.
Phoned the GP there for results and the test has came back positive, reading of 61.8 - I belive anything over 10 is deemed positive. I do know that the stool i took the sample from was particialy 'bad' as it has blood on it.
Receptionist at the surgery has said GP will be phoning me back tomorrow to discuss further- I am sitting here in floods of tears thinking the worst that it will be cancer.
Please can anyone share any infomration/experience of this?
