I have been having symptoms for a year which I was told was probably IBS.  In December I finally had a CT colonoscopy and today without warning received a letter to say that I have a mass in my appendix, a suspected carcinoid. Follow up blood test and urine test in next two weeks. Totally shocked and don't know what to expect. I recently lost a friend who had a late stomach cancer diagnosis and died just two weeks later from a burst appendix. So unsurprisingly I am terrified.
