Lump in the neck and groin

I'm scared and I genuinely am thinking the worst. 3-4 months ago I found a lump in my neck and thought nothing of it, fast forward to now I've lost a huge amount of weight, currently only over 6 stone :( I've got a big lump now in my groin. Suffering from fatigue, low iron, night sweats and the massive amount of weight. I've been referred urgently to ent, I'm only 26 and had a baby 6 months ago. My mums sister died of non hodgkins at the age of 22 and I'm convinced I've got something similar. The lumps don't hurt and they don't move, the one in my groin is about 4-5cm

  • Thank you :)

ive had my appointment through already, I'm being seen on Monday by the haematologist. Having bloods done on Friday again ready for them to see me Monday afternoon. Really worried not going to lie. More lumps have appeared in my groin and another one in my neck. Lost 2lbs since last Friday also :(

  • Very happy to hear that you're being seen early on next week! Can completely understand your worry though with the new lumps appearing and your weight going down... try to keep drinking lots of water and eat filling meals. Hopefully on Monday they'll make a plan with you and talk through ways to improve your symptoms.

  • Try to get a good night's sleep for tomorrow. I hope you can take someone with you. Sending good thoughts your way and hoping for the best.

  • Hey lovely.

i have been here, I have also made a really good friend from this chat forum who has also been here. I wish I could help take away the fear but nothing will. I hope my experience can reassure you a little.

I have about 4 lumps in my neck, one on my collarbone two in my armpit and several in my groin - Collarbone is the worrisome one for lymphoma usually. I wasn't aware of them until 2019 (baring the groin ones) a year after having my son - I am 25. I have had an MRI and two neck ultrasounds and three armpit ultrasounds. The friend I made on here has the exact same - she's slightly older with a son the same age.

we both have felt hot sweaty and fatigued in the first year of having our children - have you had your iron levels checked? Are you breastfeeding ? Have you had an infection?  All of these things can be explanations.

worst case scenario I mean absolute worst - lymphoma is so so treatable regardless of the stage and you are otherwise young and healthy. This is also a very unlikely outcome and the odds are in your favour but you've had three children you can tackle anything and you would for babies !!!

the fact your aunt has had lymphoma doesn't increase your risk only direct siblings from what I have read.

I wish you all the best for your scan lovely!
watch your fav movies, play with your babies - you've got this xxx

  • Thank you :) will keep you updated

  • Hi :)

ive got a few in my neck, groin and I've also discovered one in my collarbone. I had my iron done about 2 weeks ago and it was low now on iron tablets. I've had no recent illness to bring up my lymph nodes and not breastfeeding

I think we all think the worst case scenario especially when you google your symptoms just crossing my fingers and toes that tomorrow goes well! I have to be positive especially for the kids xx

  • I think having young children really brings our immune system down! Honestly I've got all of those and it has been over a year now, multiple scans!

i hope you can get an explanation - I still struggle that I have then and don't know why, the one under my jaw is quite big I turn my head it falls out and feels gross! My armpit feels like I'm wearing kids sized clothing lol!

yep positive for the kiddies - you can do this!! I'll be checking to see how you get on  xxx

  • Hey,

had my appointment didn't go as well as I'd hoped. He found swollen lymph nodes in my neck, armpit, stomach and groin. I've been referred urgently for a ct scan and biopsy :( still trying to think positive xx

  • Oh hun, did he say what size they were? They could be up for an infection!! I have them in my neck and armpit - they've never looked at my tummy or groin so I can't say for those but I can feel some and have a weird sensation under my left ribs!!

i am truly hoping it's something like an infection lingering!! Soo many things affect our lymph nodes!! I have everything crossed for you - I hope you have your CT scan soo. As the waiting is truly the worst xxx

  • Did you find out what it was?

    Sending you so much love
