Hi everyone,
I'm trying not to have a complete meltdown, but it's hard! My Mum recently had a CT scan, the one where they inject you with dye. She had had an endoscopy that they hadn't been able to complete, so the doctor ordered a CT scan and a barium meal CT, too, this was due to her having lots of heartburn and some family history, oh and slightly elevated raised platelets.
Anyway, she had the scan last Tuesday and the hospital got back to her today and they want to do a biopsy, because they said it showed a raised or some raised lymph nodes and they want to do a biopsy on either her neck or chest. Of course, I went straight to Google and I'm now terrified she has Lymphoma! She has no other symptoms, although a lump at the base of her neck did show up, but it was after the CT scan that she noticed it, it hadn't been there before. There was also something said about her kidneys, that they want to do an ultrasound on, but after the biopsy. Sorry if this is all over the place, I'm just so worried! All I heard was biopsy, lumps and that was it, I was instantly scared half to death!
Just wanted to see if anyone could offer any help. Thanks I'm advance.
