So desperate

I am reeling and cannot believe what is happening.

I was sent for MRI for pain in hip and lower back. The MRI showed lesions in my spine and some nodules in my lungs. I had no symptoms at all apart from the hip and leg pain.

I am now on this horrible rollercoaster. Call from Consultant, PET scan scheduled for next Tuesday! 

I am so afraid they won't be able to give me any treatment if the cancer has spread too much.

Has anyone has a PET scan before?  

Grateful for any information.

    I'm so sorry that you find yourself on this rollercoaster. This period of waiting for more tests and results can be particularly difficult. The "not knowing" can lead to us thinking the worst and feeling even more anxious about what lies ahead. 

    We have some information on our website about PET scans which you may find of help. These types of scans create much more detailed 3D images which will help your Consultant to plan what treatment options may be appropriate. 

    It can sometimes help to talk things through and so I wondered if you'd like to give our nurses a call. I'm sure they will be able to give you some information and support. If you'd like to talk to them they're available Monday to Friday, 9 am to 5 pm on 0808 800 4040.
