Can Cervical Ectropion be linked to Cervical Cancer

Hi,

Im looking for some advice or guidence on the above, has anyone else had similar syptoms?

I am  32 years old, I have been diagnoised with Cervical Ectropion, something that was diagnosed approx 2 years ago. Along side this Unterine Fibroids have been detected from having a scan. Although the Dr didnt seem too concerned about this.  I am experiencing the following symptoms most of which seem to be getting worse.

I suffer with very heavy periods, I have bad pelvic pain. In addition to this I bleed a lot out of my cycle and more recently started to experience bleeding after intercourse followed with pain. I went back to the doctors again recently due to this issue and the heavy bleeding. Upon inspection the Dr told me my cervix looked sore and the Ectropion seemed inflamed, this was removed with Silver Nitrate. I also have a tilted womb and cervix so the doctor always struggles to get a full view of my cervix.

I am still experiencing the same symptoms. I am starting to get a little concered that there may be something more sinnister going on, would I be right in requested to be refered to a Gyno?

has anyone else suffered similar symptoms to then be diagnoised? I'm just starting to get a little worried because like most woman we know our bodies so notices changes.

Should I be worried?

Thanks x

  • Hello Raychb88

I'm sorry to hear that you're dealing with some ongoing health problems at the moment.

There is some information on the Jo's Trust website about cervical ectropion which hopefully will offer you some reassurance.

As things don't seem to be improving it would be a good idea to get back in touch with your GP to let them know and they will be able to refer you for further tests if appropriate.

I do hope things improve for you soon.

    Best wishes,
