Multiple lumps found, very worried!

Hi all, my first post so bare with me!

I'm a 22 year old woman, relatively healthy!

About 2 months ago I noticed a small lump behind my jaw just below my ear on my neck. I told my aunt and she said  it to worry I was probably ran down so I forgot about it. The other day I noticed the lump again! It hadn't grown in size but I noticed another small one above it. The lump is hard, completely painless and can be moved slightly up and down but that is just from pushing it.

I've also noticed that my legs are extremely itchy and I am VERY fatigued. I also become randomly very sweaty during the day out of nowhere that lasts for a while then disappears (doesn't happen much during the night) but my hands and feet will be wet from sweating.

I had a family memeber check this out (they are a doctor) briefly and they said it might be gristle. I know this is a possibility but I am unsure and worried. I don't want to go to my doctor and they brush this off as nothing but I also do not want to go for no reason.

my family member also said the lumps were rather small, I know lymph nodes are not huge but what should I be feeling for? I would say they feel around pea sized and as I said, it has been here for over two months without going down.

I also today just found two lumps in my groin  they're kidney shaped and larger than the ones in my neck. One lump on each side. This has added to the worry

Any words of wisdom or advice would be truly appreciated! Xx

  • Hi Razz98,

Sounds like a really stressful situation to be in! I'd really really encourage you to make an appointment with your GP, if only so you can get the all clear. If you don't want to do that yet, maybe it would be worth just taking a note of where these lumps are and whether they change at all, and then you can take that to the doctor at some point.

Tbh - some people are just prone to lumps and bumps. My cousin is like that - has had loads of lumps in lots of places and has gotten them tested multiple times and they're all benign. But if you're really worried, chat with your doc. Hope that helps xx

  • Thank you for the response!

I just had a call with my doctor, they've been open late recently which is nice :) I've mentioned the lumps etc and he's sending me for a blood test on Thursday, if they come back clear he would still like to see me for a check up and maybe send me to a specialist.

my mum mentioned that she had a lump similar around my age and it was nothing so my mind is at ease a bit. I guess it is all just a waiting game!

I feel like I have some health anxiety and obviously that isn't ideal! I might look into that more as I would rather deal with that before thinking about other health issues lol

your response was very kind and helpful thank you very much xx
