Are leg and hip pain part of ectropion?

I spoke to my dr today and she said she feels as though I have cervical ectropion but when I have tried to research it it says nothing about leg pain or hip pain or cramping. These are all the symptoms that I am having at present :( has anyone any info that might put my mind at ease?

  • No cervical ecropions don't usually cause pain. They can bleed though. Pain in your back and leg is likely due to something else, if it's accompanied with bleeding it would be best to bring it up with your gp & if it's consistent x

  • I don't have any bleeding at all. I just started cramping and back pain. Had a check up and dr said my womb looked raw. I'm just having pain around my back and legs with it now so was worried x

  • How old are you & was the bleeding between your normal period? Have you had smears done before? Ectropions are actually really common and normal x I'm glad she had a look, usually they will always refer you for anything that's not normal for you xx

  • I'm 32 soon. I didn't have any bleeding at all apart from my regular period . I presented to my doc for pelvic cramping and pain in my lower back/hip area, they did a routine check and said my womb showed hormonal changes/ectropion. She referred me for a colposcopy to be cautious. My only other symptoms are pain in front of my upper thigh/groin area and it all comes and goes. I suffer from ibs also and in also get bad anxiety when it comes to health so iv been all over the place since she referred me. I'm petrified that its cervical cancer because nobody seems to get cramps with ectropion x

  • Hi,

I'm 21 - 22 in a week lol. I also suffer from health anxiety unfortunately & feel a bump on my cervix. I've come to the realisation if it is anything bad with my cervix my worrying won't change anything. I've recently started to get pains in my lower abdomen under my belly button & that's been freaking me out too. I have an apt booked for Tuesday praying it all goes well.
At your age, it would be reassuring to know your smears are clear & that you've been referred as a precaution as ectropions are suuuuuper common. Better to have a second opinion right?
A website call the beautiful cervix project shows pictures of ectropions, cysts & loads of other cervical changes that really made me feel better!

  • Hi [@Ekmom]‍ can I ask how you are getting on? In a similar boat and worried too x

  • Hello, sorry to hear your feeling this way :( I had the colposcopy and got the all clear thank god. I'm guessing it was stress and worrying with hormonal pain. Try not to worry. I no its so much easier to say then do but worry makes it so much worse. A nice warm bath and  massage will do you the world of good x
