Waiting for Hysteroscopy Biopsy Results

UPDATE:  It was 4 weeks yesterday since all my tests and biopsy was taken. A long 9 weeks and 3 days since my bleed.   Still No letter this morning so I called Consultant's secretary and she had just put my letter in the post to me.  She read the results over the phone as Ive been really stressed, not slept for days and was getting more anxious. Convinced it is womb cancer.

It's NOT CANCER!!!  Its all good news.   Thats all I heard.

I will know more when I get the letter. What a Relief.  I do hope this shows we can all be wrong even the doc thought it very well could be.  All the best to you all. Jen x

PREVIOUS POST:  Hello all, am new here.  I'm disabled and have a few serious conditions already, Stroke, Asthma, Diabetes 2, Arthritis and  Anxiety/Depression and Sleep Apnea.  I just turned 60 on Hogmanay.  I had an unexpected bleed at beginning of December, the first time since the menopause ended about 15 years ago.  My GP sent an urgent referral to gynae dept on 7th Dec and the hospital called me on Friday8th Jan giving me an appointment on Monday 11.  Doctor and 5 nurses were great made the whole thing easier than I thought it would be.

I had an ultrasound, then a Hysteroscopy,  an examination followed by him taking a biopsy from something in the wall of womb I think.  It too ws a lot easier than I thought and painless.  After he told me a couple of things it can be and that we'd have to wait for the results. then we shall take it from there.  I forgot to ask anything else including how long it takes for results to get back and how I will find out.   I called Gynae Consultant's Secretary to ask and uts at least a 4 week wait for the results.

I still haven't really slept and thinking about it all the time since Monday, I feel sick all the time.  Am still bleeding after the biopsy on Monday.

  • While reading through the forum, I found your post without a reply and decided to stop by to welcome you to the forum, JenSed7.

It looks like you're going through a lot at the moment and it's no wonder this may be affecting, even more, your sleep but I'm glad that what sounds like a lovely team of doctors and nurses is taking care of you. Also, I hope you had a lovely 60th birthday this past Hogmanay, despite all the troubles you're facing.

We do have others here on the forum who are on a similar situation, and I hope you'll soon get to chat with them as talking to those who can understand does seem to help while you wait for the results. Once you find out more, please give us an update. We'll be thinking of you.

    With best wishes,

    Renata, Cancer Chat Moderator

  • Hi thank you so much I was worried that no one had seen my post, this morning I saw a post very similar to mine and I got a reply before you have replied to me. Its so reassuring to have this page group available as everywhere else seemed to be about diagnosed patients.  Its Turmoil in my mind and body just now.  The bleeding has got worse over the last 24 hours which am thinking is because I'm on Clopidogrel.  Will definitely add updates as this is really helping me today I dont feel so alone now.  Thank you so much for my birthday wishes too. Stay safe and take care.

  • Hi Moderator, if you don't mind can I ask you a wee question please?  Following on from my post above.  Gynae Consultant asked if I had any symptoms and I said know because I thought he meant pain, more bleeding or cramps.

And after reading your reply I went into other areas of info and saw possible symptoms that I didnt know were symptoms relating to my problems.

So I've been looking at my calendar on my phone as I know that I did have symptoms that I hadnt realised.  I had spotting over a few weeks on and off in Oct & Nov,  urinating more and another change too.  Should I let the Gynae Consultant know about these symptoms now or wait untill I see him next or should I not bother telling him at all ??  Cheers Jen
