Should I get 2nd opinion?

Hi, im really sorry if this is in the wrong category. Not sure how to describe it but I recently noticed a shallow 'crease' on my nipple, it only happens when laying down and doesn't go.all the way across, and is otherwise not noticeable, my nipple is behaving normally in all other aspects. I spoke to the Dr on the phone yesterday and he was brilliant and really reassuring (I have severe health anxiety). He basically said that what I am describing is not enough for a referral to the breast clinic and to now relax, but I've woken up in a panic, obviously in the current times I dont really want to be hanging around the surgery or taking up their valuable time but has anyone has similar and should I seek a second opinion?

  • Hello Shjshj,

I can appreciate why you're worried but if you talked to your doctor already and reassured you have no reason to see the breast clinic it might be a good idea to take his word into account and try to shift your mind to other things instead.

If you find yourself having a hard time with your anxiety and feel that speaking with someone medically trained on the phone might help, our nurses are available on this phone number 0808 800 4040, Monday - Friday between 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.

    Best wishes,

  • Now been hyper aware of my breasts in general and think there is also a lump in the breast, I am booked in with the GP on Tuesday and am absolutely terrified. I have 2 young children and I have been to hell and back in my head.
