Glandular area on cervix

Hi All,

Just looking for some advice. I've had ongoing issues for a few months - bleeding after sex, recurrent thrush symptoms, pain during sex, BV - numerous swabs for STI/Thrush and BV all negative.

A couple of months ago it was noted there was an ectropion on my cervix so I stopped the pill and have been using condoms. The bleeding seems to have stopped since using these and last week the doctor said the ectropion is gone but I have a glandular area on my cervix and a lot of discharge on my cervix?? I've been urgently referred for a scan and colposcopy..

I am so worried as I'm only 25 but keep telling myself if it was something serious the bleeding would continue? Just looking for some reassurance or suggestions while waiting for my referral..

This group gives me so much comfort, Hope you're all well x

  • Welcome to the forum CarlyBert although I'm sorrry for the reason you're joining us.

I know it can seem rather scary when you find out you've been urgently referred but as you'll see here, 9 out of ten people who are referred this are not diagnosed with cancer.

Although our community are unable to comment on the symptoms your GP has found, they can offer their support and advice if they've been in similar situations which I'm sure some of them will do soon.

In the meantime I hope this information we have about the colposcopy will help you prepare for your appointment.

Fingers crossed everything will be o.k.

    Kind regards,

  • Hi Carly,

I'm having a similar experience now. I'm wondering how you got on and what was the outcome?
