I am 51 and it was 369 days since my last period when I started to bleed last week. It is very heavy (having to use 6 pads) however that is normal for how my periods used to be. I have been referred for 2 week wait to gynaecology and tbh I'm terrified as my mum died aged 62 having had cervical cancer then metastatic disease.

I have had totally normal smear tests and only 1 sexual partner but I'm still worried. I had a polp removed approximately 3 years ago under GA. I'm worried as now due to current pandemic I have to go to hospital appointment on my own and I've heard horror stories regarding outpatient hysteroscopies. 

Any advice and support?
