When I came round from my operation yesterday I was wearing a foil shower cap... I never see anyone else wearing one and neither had the nurses by their reaction! Can anyone shed any light on this??

Hi Jayne2021,
Sounds like a bit of a strange one! It's not something I can shed any light on unfortunately - may be one to check with your doctor/specialist if you're concerned about it.
All the best,

Hi again jayne2021,
Having looked into this further, it seems that thermal foil caps are actually heat conducting (a bit like a foil blanket). They are a fairly new thing, and can be used to help prevent someone losing heat during the recovery process. As we having a bit of a cold snap at the moment it may be that they thought it would be a good idea to help keep you warm.
I hope this helps.
